ENHANCED PRIMARY CARE Plan
What Is An Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan?
An EPC plan is put together by a GP to help manage chronic conditions. It includes, but is not limited to, asthma, recurring injuries, cancer, cardiovascular illness, diabetes, and stroke. To access a Medicare rebate, you must have had your ‘chronic condition’ for more than 3 months.
An EPC allows for a total of up to 5 subsidized consults, to any referred allied health practitioner, per calendar year. That can include a physiotherapist, podiatrist, psychologist, dietitian, etc. The 5 consults can be split amongst different allied health practitioners.
An EPC may be issued by your GP at any time of the year and remain open until the number of services the GP has specified on the referral have been used. Any unused services at 31st December can continue to be used but are subject to the maximum limit of 5 consults in any calendar year period (i.e. 1st January – 31st December). An EPC can be renewed each calendar year, but you will need a new referral from your GP each year.
Olympia Athletics is not a bulk-billing clinic, so there will be a gap payment on each consult. This amount will depend on the duration of your appointment. Our team will consider your treatment priorities and financial situation to propose a best-case scenario for you.
For example:
15-min Consultation $65.00
Medicare rebate $60.35
Gap Fee $4.65 (to be paid on the day)
Once you have obtained your EPC referral, book online or contact us on 0481 708 890 if you have any specific questions regarding the EPC plan.
Please note Medicare rebates and Private Health Insurance benefits cannot both be claimed for these consults. Patients must choose whether to access one or the other.
